Day 8

Mileage back up to a more respectable 31 miles. More miles down LF1 to Hoek van Holland and then along the Rotterdam waterway to Maassluis and up to Maasland where our room is for the night. Lots of rain today so the mile and a half ride into town for dinner was not perfect but great to ride the tandem with no bags. Good fun in the local and we have a new list of places to visit on our last two days. Could have spent much more of the evening in there but not a good idea with the tandem to ride back out of town.

Day 6 and 7

An even shorter day today as we arrived Scheveningen after about 20 miles and this town was recommended a few times since we arrived in Holland. We decide to spend the afternoon in the Sea Life centre and we find an excellent Vrienden op de Fiets room so book a second night so we can visit the local museum and Den Haag the following day. The museum is excellent and Den Haag an interesting place to visit and day 7 ends with a meal on the beach at one of a dozen totally packed restaurants on the sand.

Day 5

A steady day today at just over 27 miles. North west out of Hazerswoude-Dorp to ride through Leiden. Our friends here are on holiday in Britain at the moment so sadly we cannot meet up with them. Headed then as far up the coast as possible to Noordwijkerhout ready to ride down the LF1 to Hoek van Holland over the next couple of days.
